Security rules for international passengers as of March 31, 2007

To increase your safety, the Australian Government has introduced new rules about taking liquids, aerosols and gels on flights into and out of Australia. As of March 31, 2007, each container of liquids, aerosols and gels in your carry-on baggage must be 100 millilitres or less and all the containers must be sealed in a single transparent one litre plastic bag.

Any items not meeting this requirement need to be placed in your hold stowed luggage before you go through the primary security screening point. The new rules apply to drinks, creams, perfumes, sprays, gels, toothpaste, lipstick, lip balm and similar substances.
